The Brick security installation and partnership with Keeley

Where It All Began.

A news story caught our attention — A break-in that threatened the progression of an invaluable organisation in our community, The Brick. The devastating event put essential services at risk and left staff and volunteers feeling vulnerable.

We quickly partnered with The Brick, donating them with an entirely new security system to enhance their safety and wellbeing. Installing modern alarms and monitoring allowed the charity to focus fully on providing emergency food, shelter, and crisis relief without fear of further vandalism.

"That initial partnership laid the foundation for Lansafe's long-term CSR mission: stepping up immediately with real, practical technology solutions whenever our local community needs us."
Embrace Wigan and Leigh Charity of the Year 2024 presentation

Charity Of The Year 2024: Embrace Wigan and Leigh.

Following the incredible success and meaningful partnership forged with our first Charity of the Year in 2023, we were inspired to continue this vital initiative year on year.

Embrace Wigan and Leigh was proudly announced as Lansafe’s 2024 Charity of the Year, chosen after the community submitted an outstanding number of nominations highlighting their tireless dedication to empowering disabled individuals and their families.

Lansafe was delighted to support their vital work by offering our managed services and IT support expertise, and we continue to help them in every way we can.

AB UK Leanne and Cordelia with Lansafe

Celebrating Our 2025 Charity Partner: AB UK.

After careful deliberation we proudly selected AB UK as our “Helping Wigan Thrive” 2025 partner. This decision was made following a board-wide vote and in-person visits to better understand where our support would make the biggest impact.

AB UK is a Wigan-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people, and adults with autism and additional needs. Through a range of inclusive social activities, support groups, and community engagement initiatives, ABUK creates safe, supportive environments where individuals can build confidence, make friends, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Led by Cordelia, AB UK impressed the board with their passion, impact, and potential for wider community benefit.

Helping Wigan Thrive Community Board in session

Helping Wigan Thrive - A Grassroots Movement.

“Helping Wigan Thrive” was created with one clear goal: to bring together local businesses and charities to make a tangible difference in our community. Originally a small initiative, the project has quickly grown, thanks in no small part to the tireless dedication of our Community Co-Ordinator, Hannah Roby.

The initiative has now become a collaborative platform, with its own dedicated Community Board, where skills, time and services are donated to support charities, CICs (Community Interest Companies), trusts, and other community organisations.

Wigan Business Awards Independent Business of the Year Sponsor

Proud Sponsor of Independent Business of the Year.

At Lansafe, we’re absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the Independent Business of the Year category at the 2025 Wigan Business Awards.

As a proud, family-run business that started right here in Wigan, this award stands for everything we believe in: resilience, community, and the power of independence. Supporting this category is about more than sponsorship; it’s a celebration of the same entrepreneurial spirit that has shaped our own journey over the past two decades.

We know firsthand what it takes to build something from the ground up, and we’re honoured to shine a spotlight on the local businesses making a real impact in our region.

PWU Supported Internships in Partnership with Wigan Council

Supported Internship Opportunities.

As part of our commitment to the future, we are working in partnership with Wigan Council and the PWU programme to explore Supported Internships.

These internships offer young individuals with additional educational needs real-world experience across IT support, customer service, structured data cabling, and business operations. By fostering confidence, hands-on skills, and structured workplace mentorship, we help pave direct pathways into meaningful long-term employment.

Wigan Athletic Community Trust Digmoor Clean-Up Day

Wigan Athletic Community Trust Summer Social Action Initiative.

Lansafe is a proud supporting partner of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s Summer Social Action Initiative.

Our team recently volunteered at the Digmoor Community Centre, where we rolled up our sleeves and helped to improve the local pitch and community area with painting, litter picking, and cleaning up. We were delighted to contribute to this important project, fostering community pride and helping to create a better environment for everyone to enjoy.

Hannah Roby, Community Co-Ordinator at Lansafe

Going Beyond Business: Hannah’s Impact.

The rapid growth of our community work has led to a newly created role: Community Co-Ordinator, proudly held by Hannah Roby.

From coordinating charity visits to managing partnerships and leading the community board, Hannah brings passion, positivity, and a genuine drive to support those in need. Her commitment goes far beyond her job title — whether it’s organising free security upgrades or supporting infrastructure repairs, she leads by example.

Manchester Marathon Charity Run for AB UK

Going The Extra Mile.

Lansafe’s Junior Engineer, Billy Roby, is embarking on an inspiring personal challenge for a fantastic cause. In 2026, Billy will be lacing up his running shoes to tackle the demanding Manchester Marathon.

This isn’t just about personal achievement; Billy is running to raise crucial funds for our Charity Partner of this year, AB UK — an incredibly important charity which hosts SEN playgroups and parent support groups for families with children who have autism and additional needs, as well as Neurotypical and Inclusive play sessions in the Wigan community.

We’ll be cheering our Billy on every step of the way!

Diamond Community Centre, Ashton security system installation

Lansafe Secure Diamond Community Centre.

After hearing about the Diamond Community Centre in Ashton being broken into and ransacked, our Community Coordinator, Hannah Roby, reached out to offer help. Within days, our engineering team installed a state-of-the-art, fully monitored alarm system completely free of charge. This restored crucial security and peace of mind for the centre’s management and the local community it serves.

“We were devastated when we discovered the centre had been broken into. Thankfully, for every bad person who would do something like that, there are good people like those at Lansafe who quickly contacted me and offered to fit us an alarm system completely free! It’s given us such peace of mind to know the centre is now secure, and if anyone tries to break in again, the alarm will alert myself and the managers. Huge thank you to Lansafe, it’s massively appreciated.” — Sarah, Manager, The Diamond Centre
